Tempra's Notebook: Devon King at Cooks Beach, Gualala, California
Last weekend we threw Jasper in the car and headed for the coast for Thanksgiving. We’d been wanting to photograph someone on the beach for awhile. We got a hold of Devon, a local high school senior and basketball player, and she met us at Cooks Beach. I was still struggling with how to direct the subject while holding onto lights, getting them close but not in the frame, and listening to David’s sometimes grouchy directions. The shoot was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect – incredibly warm for a late November day on the north coast, and no wind. Devon had never really modeled before and she did awesome.
