Eagle #1
All of my best photos are “luckily happened upon";
not “taken,” not “shot,” not even “captured,” but shown to me by the grace of what is good and true and beautiful in this world at a time when my camera is out and pointed in the right direction.
I was lucky last night. After the girl’s basketball game I was photographing ended, the Paradise Jr. High’s mascot “Eagle #1” pulled up the eagle head to reveal non-other than Tess Dilly, who is the daughter of my friends Melody and Todd. Tess is in the fifth grade. I have known her since she was a baby.
I had my camera out and was blessed with this image of a powerful, intelligent, beautiful soul.
